There is one question my family have been asking me time and time again over the past week while being at home for Christmas 'What about what Tiger Woods has been up to?!'
They know I like watching Tiger Woods play and expect me to start cursing him and calling him all the names under the sun for what has apparently happened so they are quite surprised when I reply,
"He's still a great golfer, and I can't wait for him to return".
I first found out about Tiger Woods because he is a phenomenal golfer. Whatever he gets up to in his private life, doesn't take away from this fact. He may have gone down in my estimations as a person in general but I can't wait for him to return to golf. And golf will certainly be worse for him being away. Everybody knows that Tiger pulls in the crowds and TV viewers and so tournament sponsors and hosts will be wanting him to return just as much as his golf fans want him to.
Overall I think Tiger's mistakes in his private life will also give all the other golfers an indication that he is human. Far too often people have got into a great position in a tournament but buckled under the pressure that Tiger put on them because people see him as being inhuman. Now that everybody knows he can make mistake I feel they will see his golf game as being human as well and they will know they are playing against someone who can be beaten.
When will he be back? Hopefully as soon as possible!
