Apart from golf balls, golf clubs and the usual things - what else do you need to make sure you have in your golf bag?
Luckily I have a large golf bag and so am prepared for all situations! :-)
Plasters
Last year during a club game I picked up a rake that had been driven over by the grass cutter and as I raked a bunker a shard of plastic gave me a nasty cut in the palm of my hand. Luckily my playing partner had some plasters in his bag and after stopping the bleeding I was able to put one on and then carry on playing. Without the plasters I'd have had to stop there and then. Ever since then I've made sure I carry a box of plasters in my golf bag. If you do this and are able to help one of your playing partners with a plaster during a round they will definitely be buying you the drinks back at the bar!
Sharpie
Sharpie's are important for marking golf balls of course! If you are playing in any competition you need to be able to uniquely identify your ball at all times so it is worth getting into the habit of marking your balls every time you play even if it is the friendly Sunday four ball.
Sun cream
Sunburn is never fun, and with the numbers of people suffering from skin cancer rising it's always important to have some sun block ready for summer.
Toilet roll
I guess this is useful if you ever get caught short, but I'm thinking more if you need to blow your nose or have a nose bleed! Of course if you cut yourself you may need to stop the blood flowing first before using a plaster and your trusty toilet roll will be just what you need.
Nuts and rasins
A round of golf can take anything from three to four and a half hours! It's important to keep your energy levels up while playing and the best thing I've found to keep in your bag that is both healthy and will stay fresh are nuts and raisins. You may like the taste of chocolate, but it will easily melt in your bag in the summer and of course it is no good for you!!!
And finally...
and a sixth one added by my lovely girlfriend Sophie,
'How about some baby wipes to clean your golf ball?' :-)
So what do you make sure you keep in your golf bags?
