Day 5 golf challenge 2010

Woke up early to find a very light snow covering on the ground and that Jack Frost had visited and made everything icey! I was so keen to get out there and play again that I didn't think that the ground will be as hard as concrete! Hitting the ball on the green meant it bouncing 30 feet up in the air and going absolutely everywhere! I gave up keeping my score as it was pointless. I'd have been better off spending 3 hours at the driving range rather than playing around on a frozen golf course, and this is what I'll probably do tomorrow as I think it is going to be exactly the same conditions. There were two pluses that came from today

1, Got to walk 18 holes again

2, Really noticed when not striking the ball cleanly

Quite a few times I'd swing and hit the ground just before the ball causing the club to bounce and a duffed shot and stinging hands. I need to stop over swinging the club. Whenever I swing too far I know my right knee straightens and my hips turn too much which changes the arc of my swing and causes all my bad ball strikes. Something I am going to work on over January is not swinging the club back too far.

I went to the range before the round today to hit a few practice balls and warm up. Very important in this cold weather to ensure you don't injure yourself on the first tee.

After golf and a few jobs around the house I got myself to the gym. I managed 20 mins on the bike and extended the running to 20 mins this time as well. Going to do some resistance work tomorrow to strengthen muscles as the cardio work will help me lose some weight but the core work will help with stability.

Holes played : 36
Range balls hit : 220
Time spent in gym : 1.25
