My muscles were a bit stiff today when I woke up as I pushed myself a little harder at the gym yesterday. Drinking plenty of water and the stretching exercises in Golf Rx should help.
There are warnings of snow coming later today so I headed down to the driving range just after lunch and hit 100 balls. I would have hit some more but it was so cold the balls had ice attached to them again. This was affecting the flight quite a bit, but also the actual temperature itself makes it not very nice to be outside!
I've been practising on getting my swing on plane over the past few days. My swing is ok until my hands get to around the 930 position (think of the swing as a clock face with 6 being the starting position of the swing), but from there I swing the club around my body too much. Swinging this way makes it difficult to get back to the ball cleanly and it also makes it too easy to over swing. I've been trying to get the club into a position at the top of my back swing that if I let go of it, it will come to rest on the top of my right shoulder. If it misses my shoulder then I've swung around my body.
The good news is when I do swing correctly I am hitting the ball very nicely. But I have swung the previous way for so long that it is going to take a little while to get use to the new swing.
