Had a busy 2 days at work - I am quite motivated right now so must 'make hay while the sun shines' (I love that saying!) I still have been managing to go to the gym though and down the range 3 times in 2 days.
Yesterdays range practice was a bit of a waste of time. It was so frickin freezing I couldn't warm up at all. I forgot my bobble hat and changing into cold golf shoes didn't help. The gym in the evening was much better though. 25 minutes biking at level 12, and 30 minutes running mostly at 11km/h was a great effort. I left feeling very proud of myself :-)
Today I took Phill from work to the driving range at lunch time. He's a beginner golfer so it was quite interesting to explain to him the basics of grip and posture. Made me check mine was also good! Phill was also able to check the length of my back swing - what we found out today was
- I find it almost impossible to make a 3/4 swing!
- When I think I'm making a 3/4 swing I am making a full one
- When I think I am making a full swing, I am in fact over swinging.
Tomorrow we are going to take the Flip video recorder down as well so I can see things for myself.
Sophie was out running this evening so I knew dinner would be late. I decided to head back to the range for another 60 balls after work.
I'm certainly starting to hit the ball better now - I am still at the stage where I just need to be hitting a good amount of balls to get back in the groove and get used to swinging a golf club.
